DPC Hub is a private community for direct primary care practices. It's run by volunteers from member practices, not by a company. Dr. Ryan Neuhofel holds the hosting account, and Linko sponsors the hosting cost. "We" on this page means the volunteers who run DPC Hub. Questions: admin@DPCHub.org.

What we collect

  • When you sign up: your email address, name, username, practice name, practice website, practice location, metro area, clinical degree and role, and your NPI if you choose to give it. We never see your password.

  • What you post: topics, replies, chat messages, private messages, photos, reactions and your profile.

  • Technical details: like most websites, the forum records IP addresses and browser information for security and spam prevention, and uses cookies to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Who sees what

  • Other members see your name, username, photo, profile, and what you post in topics and chat. Clinical Discussions, including Patient Health Education, is visible only to clinicians and nurses, and Owners Only only to practice owners.

  • Only administrators see your email address, your NPI and the technical details above.

  • Moderators and administrators keep short private notes on membership decisions, such as "approved, website checked."

  • Nobody outside DPC Hub sees any of it. The forum requires a login and isn't visible to search engines.

Private messages stay private

Administrators and moderators don't read private messages or chat direct messages. The only exception is a message that someone in the conversation flags for the moderators. Discourse, the software we use, technically lets administrators open private messages, so we keep a log of any time that happens, and every administrator can see that log. Messages are private but not encrypted, so keep truly sensitive matters, and all patient information, out of them.

How we use it

We use your information to run DPC Hub: to check that new members meet our membership standard, to show your posts to other members, and to send the emails you choose (replies, mentions and a weekly summary, all adjustable in your preferences). We never sell your information, show ads, or share it with anyone except as described on this page.

About our sponsor, Linko

Linko, a directory of practices that publish their prices, sponsors DPC Hub's hosting and was founded by one of our members.

  • Linko may notice practices and providers mentioned in DPC Hub's topics and directories, and invite them to list. Many won't, and that's fine.

  • Linko never creates a listing from DPC Hub. Every practice decides for itself whether to sign up and what to publish.

  • Linko never uses private messages or chat direct messages, and never copies prices or anything else members post into its directory.

  • What's said on DPC Hub never affects whether a practice is listed on Linko, how it appears, or whether it's removed. You never need a Linko listing to belong here.

Services that help run DPC Hub

  • Communiteq hosts the forum and sends its email.

  • Akismet checks some new posts for spam.

  • Google Fonts provides our typefaces.

  • Gravatar: if you have a Gravatar photo, Discourse may use it as your profile picture until you upload your own.

No patient information

DPC Hub isn't built or approved for patient information, and it isn't covered by HIPAA. Never post anything that could identify a patient, anywhere, including private messages and uploaded files. If you see something that shouldn't be here, flag it.

Your choices

  • Edit or delete your own posts, and change your profile and email preferences, at any time.

  • Leave whenever you like. Ask the administrators to anonymize your account: your name and details are removed, and your posts stay as part of the conversation (see our guidelines). Our hosting company keeps backups for a limited time.

  • Questions or requests: admin@DPCHub.org.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and post a note in Site Feedback.

DPC Hub is brand new. If anything is confusing or broken, tell us at admin@DPCHub.org. We read every note.
